Gertrude Jekyll Gardens at the Glebe House

the birthplace of the Episcopal Church in the New World and graced by the only extant American garden planned by England's most venerated designer. This 18th century home is located on one of the oldest streets in Woodbury. It is interpreted that the period in Woodbury is from 1771-1786 when the Marshall family and their slaves lived in the house. Costumed docents tell the story of the daily life of this family during the Revolutionary War. Gertrude Jekyll was a brilliant English garden designer. She was a master at applying color theory to the composition of gardens. Click here for their web site.
