Description
You'll discover the mystery and adventure of the "Silent Service" at the U.S.Navy's Submarine Museum. In the museum you can peer through one of the Museum's three operating periscopes. It is possible you might see one of the Navy's newest nuclear submarines going by on the Thames River! Visit the control rooms, relax in the two mini-theaters and enjoy films of submarines past and present. Your visit to the submarine Nautilus brings to life all you experienced in the Museum. Aboard Nautilus you'll walk the same decks that made submarine history. Explore the torpedo and sonar rooms, see the control and navigation room, visit the crew's living quarters, the galley, and other important spaces. From Connecticut Route 12 follow the USS Nautilus signs. Open year round. Summer April 15 to Oct. 14: 9 am to 5 pm daily. Tuesday l pm to 5 pm: Winter Oct. 15 to April 14 9 am to 4 pm daily closed Tuesday. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. Nautilus is also closed the first full week of May and the first two full weeks of December.
