Description
The Cape Cod Rail Trail is part of the Massachusetts State Forests and Parks System and follows a former railroad right of way for 25 miles through the towns of Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet. A smoothly paved surface, few hills, and well-marked automobile crossings. It is also perfect for horseback riding, walking and running for all abilities and ages.There are many opportunities to get off the trail and visit a beach. Food and water are also available and public restrooms at Nickerson State Park, Salt Pond Visitors Center at Cape Cod National Seashore and the National Seashore Headquarters.
