Collections of African American Art, Artifacts, Photographs, and Documents on display at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. The Foundation was founded in 1987 and is a not for profit cultural arts organization, which owns a vital collection of art, artifacts and popular culture objects that document the experience, expressions and history of people of African American Heritage. The Amistad Foundation is housed at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, Conn. Heritage Exhibition runs from January 26 through October 6, 2002.
