Description
Linden Place is an 1810 Federal mansion built for General George DeWolf whose grandson Col. Samuel P. Colt founded the US Rubber Co. The mansion has hosted four US Presidents, was home to Ethel Barrymore, and was used in the film The Great Gatsby. The fabulous estate, which is located in the center of downtown Bristol, is made up of the mansion, lovely sculpture-filled gardens, an 1825 Carriage barn, a 1902 ballroom and outbuildings dating from 1750. The mansion is open 10am-4pm Thursday-Saturday, 12 noon-4pm Sunday, May l-Columbus Day, Open weekends, Thanksgiving through the end of December for special holiday decorations.
