Description
Maine's first planetarium presents an unhindered view of the universe. The planetarium on the second floor of Wingate Hall has a 20 foot solid dome suspended over 45 seats and a Spitz 373 projector that produces 1000 stars, clusters, planets, and the Milky way. The audio system provides music and narration for most presentations while a team of slide projectors, special effect machines, and video projectors illustrate each adventure. The Jordan Planetarium productions include shows for young sky watchers and seasoned astronomy buffs . View the planets up close, journey to the center of the earth or to the edge of the universe, jump back to the discovery of Pluto, the birth of the solar system or the beginning of time.
